Kim Kardashian was apparently “obsessed” with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding on April 29. Kate has inspired many a bride-to-be, whether it’s her dress or makeup, but it seems like Kim is determined to make sure her August 20 nuptials to Kris Humphries match the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s in more ways than one. We’ve compiled five ways Kim’s wedding will be similar to Kate’s. See below!
The TV broadcast: Approximately 3 billion people tuned in to watch William and Kate get married — it’ll be hard for any kind of program to reach such high numbers. But Kim has a loyal audience who will no doubt watch when her wedding is screened on the E! channel for four hours over two nights.
The crest: A special coat of arms was created for Kate’s family before she got married to William. Kim and Kris have similarly designed a crest to sit at the top of their invitations — it combines their initials K and K, which when flipped around and combined make the letter H for Humphries.
The Alexander McQueen factor: Kate’s Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen dressed wowed royal watchers for its elegance. While Kim has chosen Vera Wang to design her own gown, there’s speculation that her bridesmaids may be dressed in McQueen after Kim was spotted carrying a McQueen garment bag — and as we all know, Pippa Middleton almost stole Kate’s spotlight in her body-skimming McQueen bridesmaid dress.
The wedding cake: According to Us Weekly, Kim loved the design of Kate and William’s wedding cake so much that she’s going to emulate the multi-tiered cake for her own celebrations! The flavours will be different, though, as William and Kate opted for fruitcake whereas Kim and Kris’ will be a white cake with chocolate chip icing.
The fragrances: Official fragrances were created for William and Kate’s wedding — one for men and one for women. Kim has also launched a limited edition wedding fragrance with only 1,000 bottles made!
