Colour has been starting to show its pretty face for the past few seasons, but it will finally be centre stage, where it belongs, this year.
The palette echoes the 1970s with orange, yellow, white and juicy tomato shades coming through, as modelled by Myer ambassador Jennifer Hawkins.
The trend is to mix the colours in floral and graphic prints so the effect is to softly merge, rather than make a bold statement. That is left to solid colours, which are also set to make a comeback.
"I love the prints coming in and the fact you can mix and match them," Hawkins said.
"You can even put them with pop-tones and that's what I'm going to go for. A lot of people can pull off brights. It gives you an injection of energy and you can experiment with it by adding a beautiful bright bag or lip colour."
Even Melbourne's black brigade can dip a toe into colourful waters with shoes, jewellery and bags, which are all brightening up.
"I love the Missoni clutch with beads on it," Hawkins said.
"I love how it's not matching and out of whack."
Myer general manager for fashion and accessories Judy Coomber said the new selection of floaty hippie dresses and frilled prairie shapes were perfect for the hot summer months and women of all shapes and ages.
"The boho trend has a more casual, relaxed feel to it," Ms Coomber said.
